印度公民申请多次有效短期签证（访日目的为观光、商务、探亲等）时的手续概要如下。每次在日滞留时间不能超出15天，签证的有效期限为“1年”或“3年”。另外，此签证不可在日本国内进行有收入的经营活动或收取报酬的活动。
1. 申请人的条件
每次的滞留时间不能超过15天，持有ICAO标准的MRP或IC芯片普通护照，并且希望申请多次往返签证的印度公民需符合以下任一条件。
（1） 最近3年内有过“短期滞在”签证的访日经历，在日期间未曾违反日本国内法律等，入境及滞留时都没出现过问题，有能力支付赴日费用的人士。
（2） 有充分经济能力的在职者。
（3） 上述（2）的配偶或子女。
2. 申请所需资料
(1) 最近3年内有过“短期滞在”访日经历者（上述1（1））
a.签证申请书（贴照片）
b.护照（仅限ICAO标准的MRP或IC芯片普通护照）
c现有护照或旧护照等资料里，能够确认得到最近3年内有持“短期滞在”签证的赴日经历
d.收入证明、存折、或纳税证明等
e.在职证明
f.多次申请理由书
（g. 居住在印度以外的其他国家时）能确认其合法居住在该国的资料
(2) 有充分经济能力的在职者（上述1（2））
a.签证申请书（贴照片）
b.护照（仅限ICAO标准的MRP或IC芯片普通护照）
c.收入证明、存折、或纳税证明等能证明有充分经济能力的资料
d.在职证明
e.多次申请理由书
（f. 居住在印度以外的其他国家时）能确认其合法居住在该国的资料
(3) 上述1（3）中有充分经济能力的在职者的配偶或子女（上述1（3））
a.签证申请书（贴照片）
b.护照（仅限ICAO标准的MRP或IC芯片普通护照）
c.能证明是其配偶或子女的资料
d.（与上述2（2）分开申请时）抚养者的收入证明等，能证明有充分经济能力的资料， 以及抚养者的在职证明
（注） 抚养者因有充分的经济能力已取得了多次有效短期签证，而被抚养者单独申请签证时，可用抚养者的护照复印件（有身份事项内容页和日本多次有效短期签证页）代替上述（3）d的资料。
e.多次申请理由书
（f. 居住在印度以外的其他国家时）能确认其合法居住在该国的资料
此外，签证审查时有可能需要追加资料。
3. 其他
申请只可在申请人居住地所在辖区的日本大使馆或总领事馆受理。（原则上不可在旅游等目的停留的第三国申请）详情请咨询日本大使馆或总领事馆。
多次有效短期签证受理审查后，有可能只发放单次签证。
The following is an outline of application procedures for nationals of India who wish to apply for a multiple-entry visa as a temporary visitor (tourism, business affairs, and visits to relatives/ acquaintances). The period of each stay of the multiple visa is up to 15 days and the terms of validity is up to 3 years. It is not permitted, however, to perform activities to undertake revenue generating business operations or activities to receive remuneration under the visa as a temporary visitor.
1. Eligibility for Applicant
Indian Nationals with ordinary MRP (Machine Readable Passport) / e-passport in compliance with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standard, who wishes to apply for a Multiple Visa for stay of 15 days and are applicable to one of the following categories:
(1) Individual who has travel record as temporary visitor to Japan in the last three years without any record of violations of the laws and regulations of Japan during their period of stay and who has ability to pay the travel expense
(2) Employed individual with sufficient financial capacity
(3) Spouse or children of the individuals who are mentioned (2) above
2. Necessary Documents to Submit
(1) Applicant with travel record to Japan in the last three years (as mentioned 1(1) above)
a. Application (with Photo)
b. Passport (MRP / e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard only)
c. Old passport that shows Japanese temporary visitor visa and entry stamp within the last three years
d. Income certificate, bank statement, or income tax return
e. Certificate of employment
f. A letter of explanation stating the reason of applying for the multiple visa
(g. for Indian nationals outside India) documents to prove that the applicant legally resides in that country
(2) Employed individuals with sufficient financial capacity (as mentioned 1(2) above)
a. Application (with Photo)
b. Passport (MRP / e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard only)
c. Documents to prove the sufficient financial ability such as income certificate, bank statement, or income tax return
d. Certificate of employment
e. A letter of explanation stating the reason of applying for the multiple visa
(f. for Indian nationals outside India) documents to prove that the applicant legally resides in that country
(3) Spouse or children of the individuals who are mentioned (2) above (as mentioned 1(3) above)
a. Application (with Photo)
b. Passport (MRP / e-passport in compliance with the ICAO standard only)
c. Documents to prove kinship
d. (For those who are applying separately from the applicant 2(2) above) documents of the spouse or the parent to prove the sufficient financial ability and certificate of employment.
* In case the spouse or the parent has already acquired a multiple visa under the same category, a copy of the passport and the visa of the spouse or the parent may substitute documents (3) c and d.
e. A letter of explanation stating the reason of applying for the multiple visa
(f. for Indian nationals outside India) documents to prove that the applicant legally resides in that country
If necessary, we might ask for additional documents apart from the documents mentioned above.
